Since may 17, 2011, the game’s release date, there has been much debate over the quality of performance of LA Noire PS3 vs Xbox 360 versions. The debate is based not only on the rivalry between the product names, but rather it is based on actual observations by gamers.
A setback of the Xbox 360 version is its disk limitation. The Xbox requires three separate DVDs to play the entire game. A player must change the disks during the course of the 20 plus game-play hours. In contrast, for the PS3 gaming platform you will only need a single disk to complete the game. Also, the single disk has additional content. Some people debate that the swapping disks during the course of the game is only a matter of small inconvenience. This is true, but it is important to realize that the more disks you posses the more risk there is of disk damage and scratches.
Perhaps one of the major issues in the debate is the graphics rendering of the two systems. This part of the Xbox vs PS3 debate is the deciding factor for most gamers. The PS3 is capable of completely utilizing the Screens Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO)of the game. This is especially noticeable when you put the two gaming platforms together. Due to the SSAO, the game looks more realistic on the PS3 platform. On the other hand, the Xbox 360 seems to have greater sharpness when it comes to items and clothing, but the graphics in the game generally looks more washed out.
So when you are choosing between the two gaming system, carefully consider the factors mentioned in this review. In terms of graphics and convenience in the LA Noire PS3 vs Xbox 360 debate, the PS3 seems to win. However, the Xbox 360 does have better networking capabilities in its corner.
